It’s an amazing and powerful platform that shouldn’t be ignored… especially when it comes to the success of your next big event. Hey, I’m Emily, Marketing Coordinator here at Fesyk Marketing. I’ve had some pretty solid experiences working on large-scale events in the past and I hope what I have here for you today will be a huge help when it comes to tackling content planning for those pesky social media channels. So let’s get started with 5 Instagram tips that you NEED to make your next big event a success! </span><b></b></p>

<h6><b>Step 1: Start spilling the tea… slowly!</b></h6>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Building the anticipation is just half the fun of getting people excited about your event. You might ask yourself, how in the world do I do that? Well, I’m glad you asked! Get people buzzing by revealing- or as I like to say, ‘spilling the tea’ on special event guests, performers, chefs, signature cocktails, cute dogs… the options are endless! Start by planning these posts out well in advance or as soon as you confirm all the event goodies! You will want to get in the habit of spilling a bit of tea every week prior to the event. This will result in getting people talking and selling more tickets! </span></p>
<h6><b>Step 2: Early birds get the worm!</b></h6>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In the case of events, early birds </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">always </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">get the worm. I can’t stress enough how important it is to regularly post about early bird deals. Why? Because it builds </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">urgency</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">. You want people to feel a little rushed so they can first, buy their tickets, and second, convince their friends to buy tickets- because who doesn’t like going out with their friends? You need to be active on your account daily to inform prospective attendees about when the deals are happening and when they’re going to end- I personally LOVE the <a href="https://later.com/blog/instagram-stories-countdown-sticker/">countdown feature</a> for this on Instagram stories. </span><b></b></p>

<h6><b>Step 3: Feed the FOMO (fear of missing out)</b></h6>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maybe it isn’t your first time running your event. Maybe you had people who were on the fence about attending your last event and now they are still unsure. Feed that feeling with sharing some event throwbacks to your grid. Is your event brand new? Maybe start with a little contest for tickets or offer discount codes to new followers to your page. Give attendees a </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">chance </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">because we all know that we only get so many chances. You really want to make them regret not coming- as sassy as that sounds! </span></p>
<h6><b>Step 4: #Hashtag it up!</b></h6>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will need to create your own custom event hashtag (or a couple) to really pin yourself to the digital map. You will want everyone and their mother sharing that hashtag to their personal pages to get you that organic growth that we all need and love. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Not only should you be sharing everything above on your Instagram story but you should be posting to your story as the event is happening! This goes hand-in-hand with that FOMO stuff. You want to showcase what’s happening behind the scene and maybe make some people a tiny bit jealous in the process. To make live story posting successful, dedicate this role to someone who will live document the set up, opening, live entertainment, speeches, and anything and everything under the sun at your event. Have detailed notes prepared for that person so that nothing gets missed! Pro tip to find yourself a Gen Z for this role because a few TikTok dances never hurt anyone. </span></p>

I’m Kelsie, Fesyk Marketing’s Social Media Specialist, and I’m excited to share all about my new favourite tool to boost your Instagram reach, showcase your product or personality, and connect with your audience in a whole new way. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yep, I’m talking about Instagram Reels! </span></p>
<h2>What are Instagram Reels?</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’ve ever fallen into the black hole of scrolling through TikTok for hours, Instagram Reels will make you feel right at home. Instagram Reels are short videos, 60 seconds or less, often set to a song or a sound created by other users. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You may be familiar with Instagram’s other tools like Stories, IGTV, and your Feed posts. What sets Reels apart is that they allow users to stitch together multiple video clips into one content piece within the app. Plus, you can use effects like filters, music and other sounds, or changing the video speed. Before Reels, the only way to create such a video would be with a tool like iMovie (which takes a fair bit of video-editing knowledge).  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unlike Stories that disappear after 24 hours, Reels live forever in the Reels tab of your profile. And while IGTV is ideal for long-form video or an episodic series, Reels are limited to a maximum of 60 seconds.</span></p>

<h2>What makes Instagram Reels so great?</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">What really pushes Reels over and above other existing tools, is that your content is promoted to users across the entire platform through the </span><a href="https://blog.hootsuite.com/get-brand-instagrams-explore-page/#:~:text=The%20Instagram%20Explore%20page%20is%20a%20collection%20of%20public%20photos,and%20improve%20its%20content%20recommendations." target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Explore Feed</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, instead of just to your followers or to people following the hashtags you used. Rumour has it that Instagram’s algorithm gives priority to creators who use Reels as an incentive to get more people creating with the tool. I’ve heard anecdotes from my social media marketing colleagues reporting more than 200% increases in their analytics after incorporating Reels into their strategy. That’s huge!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Despite TikTok’s popularity, Instagram still has nearly twice as many users as TikTok. Now that many users repost TikToks to Instagram Reels, Instagram users are more likely to stay and scroll through Reels, rather than going to a different app. That means more opportunities for users to stumble across your content and decide to engage, follow, or buy from you. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Another benefit of Reels is that the time investment for the user is low, so it’s more likely that they will stick around to watch your full 15-60 second clip than they might be if your video was 5 minutes or more. Attention spans are getting shorter, and if you can grab your audience in the first few seconds of your Reel, they’re more likely to watch the full video, and check out the rest of your content while they’re at it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Finally, one of the best things about Reels is that they are low-risk. Users aren’t looking for totally polished, high production quality videos on Reels. The more authentic your video, the better it will perform, so have fun and lean into it.</span></p>

<h2>Are reels right for your business?</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As always, before you jump into a new tool, the first question you should ask yourself is: is the audience I’m trying to reach using this platform? <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If your business is geared toward a younger Gen Z audience, you may be better off taking the leap into TikTok, where </span><a href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/1095186/tiktok-us-users-age/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">the largest percentage of users is between ages 10-19 (25%)</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and nearly half are under 30. But if you’re marketing towards Millennials, you may have better luck on Instagram where the demographic </span><a href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/325587/instagram-global-age-group/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">trends slightly older (62% of users are aged 18-34)</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Another thing to consider when it comes to creating Reels is how comfortable you are with the Instagram platform, and video editing in general. While the method of creating a new Reel can be pretty intuitive once you get into it, there is a bit of a learning curve. It’s not uncommon to end up spending upwards of an hour tweaking and fine-tuning, all for a 15-second video. If you’re not familiar with the app, spend some time playing around, testing the tools and figuring out how it works before you dive into a strategy of posting multiple Reels per month.</span></p>
<h2>Okay &#8230; I&#8217;m ready! How do I use Instagram Reels?</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The technical steps to making a Reel are pretty straightforward — check out </span><a href="https://later.com/blog/instagram-reels/#create" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">this blog from Later</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for a step-by-step explanation.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, the concept and planning of a good Reel is where it takes a bit of finesse.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">First, think of the overall goal of your Reel. Are you hoping to showcase a product? Share your expertise through advice? Show off your personality by jumping on a current trend? Deciding what you want your Reel to accomplish is step one.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re feeling stuck, scroll through the Reels tab on Instagram and look for inspiration. This is a channel where putting your own personal twist onto an existing video style or topic is not only acceptable, but encouraged. Take note of the Reels that draw you in, that make you want to watch the whole way through, that make you feel entertained or interested. Then, think of how you could do something similar, but tailored to your business and your audience.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Next, you want to get an idea of what shots your Reel will include. Trust me on this one — you want to have a storyboard or outline of the video BEFORE you start to film. Jot down some short, point-form notes of what shots you want to take.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Then, film! You can film your Reel directly in the app, or film clips using your phone’s camera and stitch them together in Instagram after the fact. Be sure to film with your phone vertical (portrait mode), and in a well-lit area so the video looks good.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When you have all your video pieces, you can use the Reels editor to tweak or trim the clips, add sound, stickers, text, and effects until you’re happy with the final video. One thing to consider is if you are using any voice-over or if you are talking during the video, adding captions to the Reel is a great way to increase the accessibility of your video, and make users browsing without sound on more likely to stay and watch. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Then… it’s time to hit post! Pro tip: be sure to share the Reel to your stories to boost it’s reach even more.</span></p>

These veterinary data experts were curious about how Facebook can be leveraged as the ultimate marketing tool (and tips on how to actually do it). </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While I wrote this blog with pet owners and veterinary industry professionals in mind, this guide to Facebook marketing is important for any business owner. </span></p>
<h2>How to start Facebook business pages</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With so many digital spaces out there, I don’t blame business owners for asking themselves “Do I really need a Facebook business page?” The short answer is yes. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Setting up a business page is an easy way to increase your brand awareness, communicate your services or products and connect with customers and other professionals in your community. However, setting up a page with no intention of putting energy into it is a mistake. Clicking on a page with no recent posts, out-dated information and slow response times is a huge turn off for any prospective customer. </span></p>

<h2>Optimize your page</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re ready to make the commitment, the first step is to optimize your page. This includes your current business hours, address and contact information, and a short but sweet About section. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To make the most out of Facebook as a marketing tool you’ll need to post fresh content consistently. I haven’t met a business owner who has the time to live post multiple times a week, so invest in a social media scheduler like </span><a href="https://coschedule.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">CoSchedule</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> so you can create and plan your posts ahead of time.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re not quite sure what to post, think about what you want to read when you land on a Facebook business page. Your content should be specific to your </span><a href="https://fesykmarketing.com/blog-the-benefits-of-choosing-a-target-audience-for-your-marketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">target audience</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and establish a connection with them. </span></p>
<h2>Engage, engage, engage!</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Once your page is filled with updated content, the next step is an engagement strategy. First, you want your Facebook page to be a reflection of your business so it’s important to have someone regularly respond to comments and direct messages. <li style="text-align: left;">Here you&#8217;ll see a number of options that give you different types of functionality. To start off, turn your &#8220;Instant Reply&#8221; button to &#8220;On&#8221;.</li>
<li>Click &#8220;Edit Message&#8221; and personalize your reply so it&#8217;s custom to your audience. We suggest including your hours of operation, your normal schedule for checking Facebook messages, a timeframe for when they can expect a reply, and (most importantly) an alternative way they can contact you if it&#8217;s urgent.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t forget to hit &#8220;Save&#8221;!</li>
</ol>
<p>Once you&#8217;ve turned your instant replies on you can scroll through all the functionality options to customize your messages.</p>
<p>Remember, making a strong connection is the most important thing here. So if you are using Facebook messenger (even if you have set up instant reply) be sure to check your messages regularly.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tell me that you don’t sit up in your chair when you come across an excellent piece of content as you click through Google’s pages and scroll through your social media feed. I know I do! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We know that content creation is a marketing tactic with </span><a href="https://carolforden.medium.com/7-long-term-benefits-of-content-marketing-f84f7230ffd3" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">proven results</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. We also know that it’s a marketing tactic that business owners find incredibly fulfilling … if they pick the content that’s right for them. Every business owner wants to share their expertise with the world in hopes that they will reach the right people and turn them into loyal customers. Service-based or product-based, there’s a type of content out there that will connect with your audience and keep them coming back for more. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So, how do you actually pick the right type(s) of content for your business? (And yes, there can be multiple). </span></p>
<h4>Set your goals</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">First, set a goal for yourself. What do you want to accomplish with your content? You can bring people to your website, increase your following on social media, generate leads or become known as an expert in your field. Your overall goal will outline the path you need to take to get there. </span></p>
<h4>Find your medium</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Next you want to find a medium that you’re comfortable communicating on. Do you love to talk to people through audio or on video? Maybe connecting with others through writing is more your thing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s easy to overthink this step and try to push yourself into a box that just doesn’t fit. Think about how you want your audience to see you. Authenticity is key here, as is trial and error. The most important thing is to get started on your content creation journey. You’ll definitely pivot and change your course as you move forward and learn more about what your audience wants, and what feels comfortable for you to create.</span></p>

(If you missed our blog on Instagram Live, you can read it </span><a href="https://fesykmarketing.com/blog-how-instagram-lives-newest-features-can-strengthen-your-marketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">here</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.) We’re back to talk about another live streaming app that could be the gateway to your audience &#8211; YouTube Live. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This year we’ve been working with our clients to strengthen relationships with their customers and move through the hurdles of a pandemic … not much opportunity for establishing real life connections, right? WRONG! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Live streams seem to be the answer for many business owners these days, and we’ve seen major success with YouTube Live streams. </span></p>
<h3>YouTube Live starter checklist</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’ve gone live on other platforms before, you might be familiar with some of the steps to get started. We found that YouTube is a bit more complicated right off the bat, but once you get started, you’re smooth sailing. </span></p>
<h5><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here are some need-to-knows before going live on YouTube:</span></h5>
<ol>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">You’ll need a Gmail account to create a YouTube channel, and likewise, your viewers will need a Gmail account to log into if they want to comment in the chat or like your video.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will need to enable your channel 24 hours before you want to go live. This is an important one! Don’t make the mistake of promoting a live stream before you’ve actually enabled your account. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">To go live on a mobile device, you need at least 1,000 subscribers. Bummer, we know. If you’re building a community on YouTube you’ll have to start your live stream debut on a desktop &#8211; but hopefully not for long! </span></li>

<h3>Why YouTube Live is a great relationship marketing tool</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unlike other live streaming platforms, YouTube allows you to go live in a few different ways. You can go solo and simply use your webcam to connect with your viewers, you can broadcast a Zoom meeting to do live interviews, or you can connect to a streaming service to make the quality top-notch. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We love this! Why? Because no matter how tech-savvy you are, you have an opportunity to connect with your audience. Want to make your stream high-end? Invest in some software to bring in multiple screens, audio, and graphics. Looking for something more low-tech? There’s nothing wrong with a simple live stream where you speak directly to the camera! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you plan to go live solo, you can pre-schedule your live stream, optimize it, and share the link with your followers. We know, amazing. Promoting live shows can be tricky, but this way you can give them a link that goes straight to a scheduled video, and gives them the option to set a reminder, significantly increasing the likelihood that they’ll remember to tune in. This user-friendly feature might make YouTube one of the best platforms to start a weekly show! </span></p>
<h3>What we don&#8217;t love about YouTube Live</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We know you’re probably wondering “Can I invite guests on a YouTube Live?” You certainly can. However, it’s not like Instagram where you can invite multiple guests directly on the platform. With YouTube, you have to broadcast a meeting from another platform. While this knocks off a star on our rating, it’s not difficult to do. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We found that the easiest way to have guests on YouTube Live was to broadcast a Zoom meeting. There are a few steps involved with enabling your Zoom account for YouTube Live streaming, and you can find them </span><a href="https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360028478292-Streaming-a-Meeting-or-Webinar-on-YouTube-Live" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">here</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Keep in mind that if you’re broadcasting from another platform, in order to schedule the live stream ahead time you’ll need to use a custom live streaming service. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hi! I&#8217;m Harma, and today I&#8217;m going to talk about curating your social media feed. Ever been puzzled by the excitement over a hot new social media platform? I remember being rather unimpressed by my Twitter feed when I first joined the platform, as I scrolled through many generic and self-promotional posts with little entertainment value. There was a lot of buzz around Twitter for writers at the time, but I was mystified about what value others were getting out of it. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sometimes it’s just the strategy we use when we first join a platform. With Twitter, I had done what most people do when joining a new platform: first connect with friends and acquaintances, and second follow several big accounts Twitter suggested “writing” for one of my interests. It was only after some time on the platform, intentionally deciding to unfollow accounts that didn’t add value to my experience, and deliberately seeking out and following accounts on more niche topics, that I began to get sucked into Twitter. I could see what Twitter offered: a way to connect with fresh, timely views of interesting people you might never meet in real life. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is when I realized how important it is to curate your social media feed. When you curate who you follow on a platform, it can completely change your experience. By only following the most popular accounts, you might miss the unique insights of smaller accounts that more directly connect with your interests. By only following friends and acquaintances, you might find yourself with little content in your feed, unless some of your acquaintances are regular posters. And each social media platform optimizes a totally different experience! Someone who is an interesting reality TV personality, for example, might not be interesting in the same way on Twitter &#8211; not everyone’s personality translates to 140 characters! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you find yourself unable to see what the hype is about </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/FesykMarketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Facebook</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://twitter.com/FesykMarketing" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Twitter</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/fesykmarketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Instagram</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF3YCmKVmObIs9JHvrL9Diw" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">YouTube</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> or Clubhouse, here are some tips. </span></p>

<h3>Tips on how to curate your social media feed</h3>
<h4>Find your niche</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Find your </span><a href="https://fesykmarketing.com/blog-how-niching-down-will-help-you-grow-your-business/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">niche</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">” is a common phrase for people building their audiences on social media &#8211; but it’s also a good phrase for those of us who are audiences as well! A “niche” is a smaller, more specific interest that perhaps less people overall are interested in, but the people who are interested in it are extremely passionate about it. You might not get a lot of value out of someone creating generic content about “books,” for example, but you may find a lot of value in someone crafting short book reviews of pulp novels from the 1930s, if that’s your thing. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you see someone consistently commenting with interesting insights on a type of content that you love, check out their profile and see if they also create similar content. They might not be a massive account with a familiar name, but they might just create the kind of content that makes your experience more enjoyable. </span></p>
<h4>Experiment</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There’s more than one way to experience a specific platform. For example, I wasn’t always sure what people did on Instagram, because it didn’t seem to take long to scroll through my feed. Then a friend told me that she spends the majority of time on Instagram exploring the Instagram Stories, which was an area I hadn’t explored much myself. If you don’t see the appeal of a wildly popular platform, feel free to ask your friends what they actually do on that platform &#8211; maybe there are different ways of using it that you hadn’t thought of yourself! </span></p>

<h4>Remove the clutter</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Don’t be afraid to unfollow! If a profile clutters up your feed with the same type of posts over and over, or if a profile is constantly self-promotional, then it will greatly improve your experience to remove it. For example, I used to follow several “free book” accounts until I realized I never did take advantage of any of the free books they were offering. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And remember &#8211; you don’t have to feel bad about unfollowing. It just means their content wasn’t for you, it’s not a judgment on them that their content has no value for anyone.</span></p>
<h4>Don’t hesitate to use all the tools a platform offers</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If it’s a more personal connection, we can sometimes feel bad about unfollowing an account. It can feel like severing our relationship with that person. Some platforms offer ways to reduce the number of posts from an account you see in your feed without cutting off your connection entirely. For example, on Facebook you can “</span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/help/268028706671439" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">hide</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">” posts, “</span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/help/268028706671439" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">snooze</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">” pages, or </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/help/172901342767609" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">stop receiving notifications</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> from a specific page. Finding out what tools you have available to customize your feed, and take advantage of them! </span></p>

<h4>Patience is key, especially at first</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Remember, every platform has its own learning curve. When you first create an account on a new platform, it’s a bit like walking into a party full of strangers. You have no idea who’s interesting and who’s not. If you cling to familiar topics and acquaintances, you might be missing a unique opportunity to meet a topic or a person you truly connect with. So take the time to explore a little bit! It may take a little time to find conversations that fit, but once you start to find them you’ll see more and more of them on that platform. </span></p>

<p><strong>Here are the steps to engage with other businesses&#8217; posts:</strong></p>
<p>1. Go to your company&#8217;s main page.</p>
<p>2. In the &#8220;manage&#8221; box located on right right side of your page, you&#8217;ll see a list of hashtag options.</p>
<p>3. Click on the hashtag you want to explore. You will be taken to a newsfeed that is dedicated to posts with this hashtag.</p>
<p>4. Click the &#8220;comment&#8221; button on the post you wish to engage with. You will see your company&#8217;s profile picture rather than your own, indicating that you are commenting on behalf of your company.</p>

This week we hopped on a live stream of our own to test the new Instagram Live features, and to share our thoughts on how to use </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/fesykmarketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Instagram</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Live to build relationships.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, we’re no newbies when it comes to Instagram Live. We suggest this platform for several of our clients, and we’ve seen major success with weekly live shows like </span><a href="https://contactrenovations.ca/the-art-of-renovation-live-gives-home-owners-renovation-inspiration/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Art of Renovation LIVE.</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> An active presence on Instagram can help make your business soar. But we want to dive deeper into </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">why </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Instagram Live could be the best place for you to connect with your audience (or why not).</span></p>
<h3>What we love about Instagram Live</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Clubhouse &#8230; There are a ton of live stream platforms out there, but none quite like Instagram. Instagram Live has features that mimic real, in-person connection in so many different ways, taps into your existing Instagram audience, and is an easy way to create content that can live on your page long-term.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re an Instagram user, you’ve likely tuned in to a Live stream at least once, but did you notice all the ways you can interact? You can send a message in the chat, read and respond to everyone else’s messages, ask a question, or request to join the live stream. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When you’re hosting a live stream, you can pull up questions from your stories or stream, bring up photos from your camera roll, or invite multiple guests to join you for a group conversation. Plus, once the stream is done, you can save your live streams to your IGTV channel where your followers can catch up on the amazing content you’ve just created. </span></p>

<h3>Our wish list</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While the multiple guest function is such a great bonus, it creates a bit of trouble for hosts who want to share images during their live. If you have a super visual brand and want to include images as part of your live stream, it might not be possible if you have more than one guest. </span></p>
<h3>So, is Instagram Live a good tool for your business?</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you want to establish (virtual) face-to-face connections, and potentially create evergreen content, Instagram Live could be the perfect tool for you. If interviews and potential conversations with guests interest you, Instagram Live is the perfect place to have these types of conversations. Keep in mind that live streams tend to be longer (anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour) and the number of viewers might not be high for the entire duration. And as we know, Instagram loves any content that keeps users on the platform for a long period of time, so the longer you keep them engaged, the more love the algorithm will show your content.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maybe you enjoy more of a casual, 10-15 minute chat, and you’re not interested in sharing or repurposing the recording. Or, maybe you’re just not comfortable putting your face on the screen. A platform where you don’t have to worry about video or auto-saved recording might be better for you. Perfect example? Clubhouse! </span></p>

But when there’s buzz around a new social platform, I get excited about the potential to use it to build relationships. (If you’re new here, our love for </span><a href="https://fesykmarketing.com/blog-why-we-love-relationship-marketing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">relationship marketing</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> makes us constantly think about how we can utilize social platforms to create stronger connections between a business and its customers). </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So, introduce the Clubhouse app! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Clubhouse app has been around for about a year now, but like most social platforms it didn’t start to create a buzz until just recently. Naturally, my team and I tried it out for ourselves and we see huge potential. We couldn&#8217;t wait to share our thoughts with you on how to use Clubhouse to build relationships, market your business, and connect with the very people you look up on social media. </span></p>
<h3>What is Clubhouse?</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Clubhouse is an invitation-only social networking app that allows users to listen and join in on audio conversations. It’s kind of like an interactive podcast or radio show, with thousands of radio-like rooms to tune into and participate in conversations with people from all over the world. Topics range from sports, tech, travel, wellness, creativity… nearly anything you can think of, there’s a Clubhouse room for it. </span></p>

<h3>What we love about Clubhouse</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Our initial attraction to the app was the easy, yet organized method to connect with others. The platform is great for everyone. If you’re a business owner who wants to increase your brand awareness, if you’re a digital influencer and you want to grow your following, or even if you’re driving to work and have run out of good podcasts. You can choose to actively participate, or to be a ghost in the background and listen in. </span></p>
<p><strong>Here are some of the features we totally loved during our test run</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">1) The app can run in the background on your iPhone, so it’s perfect for when you want to listen in while you multitask.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">2) </span>Each chat room is set up like a stage, where the moderator can invite guests to essentially “speak on stage” and once they’re done, they get moved back into the audience. You can even create private breakout rooms. Not only is this set-up great for casual conversations, you could also host team meetings!</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">3) The elimination of the chat or message function is brilliant. Hear us out on this one! No more being distracted by others’ questions, or having to constantly watch the chat box while running the show. Clubhouse is solely audio-chat, and let me tell you &#8211; it’s refreshing. We love this level of connection.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">4) You have multiple notification options where you can choose the type of room you want to be notified about, how frequently you wish to receive notifications, and whether to pause them for a bit.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">5) The invitation-only rule keeps the app from getting saturated too quickly.</span></p>
<h3>Our Clubhouse wish list</h3>
<p>With any new social media app, you&#8217;ll find there are things you wish were more user friendly. The one thing on our wish list is that the app be available for Android users. Currently Clubhouse is only available on iPhones, and this leaves all Android users out of the loop.</p>
<h3>How to use Clubhouse for Relationship Marketing</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Within the app you can be a moderator and a guest. If your ultimate goal is to host a Club where you control the chat room and drive the conversation, being a moderator is the perfect fit for you. If you’re looking for interesting conversations and maybe a new connection or two, the guest spot is where it’s at. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here are some tips for any of you Clubhouse beginners.</span></p>
<h4>Tips on how to best use Clubhouse as a moderator</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">1) Use the functions to your advantage! As a moderator, you have the ability to remove guests, mute them, and send them back to the audience so your stage doesn’t get too crowded. This helps to establish meaningful connections without any background noise. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">2) When your guests are speaking, click on their profile image and check out their information quickly. If they have their social accounts linked, check those out too! You can do this without interrupting the conversation, and you’ll be able to establish stronger connections with your guests by commenting on their profile details.</span></p>

Direct them to your website to sign up for your newsletter, or to check out your IGTV videos on Instagram. Show them that you have even more relevant, valuable content to discover. Your guests will look forward to connecting with you again! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">4) In order to start a club you need to be active on the app. Engage with other people on the app, follow their accounts, and check out different conversations! </span></p>
<h4>Tips on how to best use Clubhouse as a guest</h4>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">1) If the app seems a bit intimidating at first, or you’re not sure where to start, keep your eye out for conversations with Clubhouse founders or follow a beginners Club.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">2) Find conversations that interest you! Clubhouse founders recommend jumping between multiple rooms to find the right people. If you go into a room and you don’t love the conversation, feel free to click the “leave quietly” button. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">3) If you get invited to speak while you’re in a room, it’s more than okay to decline or not answer at all. The moderator will move onto someone else, no harm no foul! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">4) If you’re on the hunt to make active connections with people in an industry or community, don’t be afraid to hit that follow button or to raise your hand while in a room. There are a ton of opportunities here for collaboration.</span></p>
<h3>Join the experience</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ready to join the Club? All you need is an invite.
